Il mwbgGediz o mwbwErmo è un mwcafiume della mwcqTurchia, che nasce nell'mwcgaltopiano anatolico e sfocia nel mwcwmar Egeo dopo un percorso di circa 400 mwdakm. Il Gediz corrisponde all'antico Ermo, a cui era associata la mwdqfigura mitologica che porta lo stesso nome.

Percorso

Il Gediz nasce dalle montagne dell'Anatolia occidentale, nella mweaprovincia di Kütahya. Scorre poi verso mweqoccidente, dove riceve numerosi mwegaffluenti (i principali: Kunduzlu, Selendi, Deliinis, Demrek e Nif). Passa vicino all'antica mwewSardi (attuale mwfaSart) e sbocca nel mwfqmar Egeo, nel golfo di mwfgSmirne, vicino a mwfwFocea (attuale mwgaFoça o mwgqEskifoça). Nella geografia antica dell'mwggAsia Minore, l'Ermo costituiva il confine meridionale dell'mwgwEolia sebbene più ideale che reale. Nella moderna Turchia le acque del Gediz sono sfruttate sia per mwhauso irriguo che per la produzione di mwhqenergia elettrica (centrale di mwhgDemirköprü).
